Our simple Step by Step guide to buying aproperty in Spain:

Decide on your budget
Choose the location you wish to buy aproperty
Decide on theproperty you wish to purchase, you can either use our:
property Finder or our Off-Plan Enquiries pages
Reserve theproperty of your choice. This will take theproperty off the market. The reservation fee is usually between 3,000 - 6,000 euros
Contact a lawyer who will now do the relevant searches on theproperty.
Within 4 weeks a private purchase contract is signed between the purchaser and vendor. At this stage it is normal to pay 10% directly to the vendor on resale properties, or approx 30% if it’s off plan.
Usually 6-8 weeks after the agreement has been signed, completion will place in front of the notary who issues the title deed, "Escritura".
If theproperty is in a new development you will not sign the "Escritura" until theproperty is completed.
